Mac mini (2024) Bottom Cover
Before You Begin
Danger: Ensure that the power cord isn't plugged into an electrical outlet. Don't connect the computer to any external power source during the repair.
Removal
Place the computer on a clean, flat surface with the bottom cover facing up and the front of the computer facing you.
Press the suction cup to secure it to the center of the bottom cover.
Pull up the handle on the suction cup to create a small gap between the bottom cover and the front of the housing as shown.
Insert the flat end of the black stick into the gap.
Caution: To avoid damaging any internal parts, insert the black stick only till the notch on its flat end.
Slide the black stick along the edge of the housing to release the first clip.
Caution: Don't release the clip in the area shown in red next to the power button yet.
Squeeze the edges of the suction cup to release it from the center of the bottom cover.
Continue to move the black stick along the edge of the housing to release two more clips.
Caution: Don't release the clip in the area shown in red next to the power button yet.
Gently lift the bottom cover as shown to release the last clip near the power button.
Caution: The power button cable is still connected to the bottom cover. Don't damage the cable while lifting the bottom cover off the housing.
Lift the end of the power button cable off the connector on the power button board.
Reassembly
If the antenna plate has foam in the areas shown, use the flat end of the black stick to remove the foam. If the antenna plate doesn't have foam in the areas shown, continue to step 2.
Press the end of the power button cable to the connector on the power button board.
Lower the bottom cover onto the housing.
Press the bottom cover down until you feel the four clips snap into place.
Caution
After you’ve completed all removal and reassembly steps, learn how to initiate the System Configuration process.
System Configuration is required if you’ve installed a replacement logic board.
If you replaced the logic board, the computer will start up in diagnostics mode until you complete System Configuration.
