Before You Begin

Removal

Note: If you’ve already completed the removal steps, skip to reassembly.

1. Use the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver and 5IP bit to remove the three 5IP screws from the speaker.

   • 923-11052 (1)

     

   • 923-11053 (2)

     

2. Gently push the speaker toward the back of the housing (1). Then rotate the speaker and gently lift it out of the housing (2).

   • Caution

     • Don't touch the speaker cone while moving the speaker.

     • The speaker cable is still connected to the logic board. Don't damage the speaker cable while lifting the speaker out of the housing.

       

3. Lift the end of the speaker cable off the connector on the logic board.

   

Reassembly

1. Gently press the end of the speaker cable to the connector on the logic board.

   

2. Gently lower the speaker into the housing and rotate the speaker into position as shown.

   • Caution: Don't touch the speaker cone while installing the speaker.

     

3. Set the torque value on the 10–34 Ncm adjustable torque driver to 14.5 Ncm.

4. Use the adjustable torque driver and 5IP bit to reinstall the three 5IP screws into the speaker.

Reinstall the following parts to complete reassembly:

• Fan

• Antenna plate

• Bottom cover
