Mac Studio (2023) Antenna 1

Before You Begin

Remove the following parts before you begin:

Tools

  • Adjustable torque driver (10–34 Ncm)

  • Antenna tool

  • Torx T6 70 mm bit

  • Torx Plus 5IP 50 mm bit

Removal

  1. Stand the logic board on the thermal module end as shown.

  2. Use the adjustable torque driver and T6 70 mm bit to remove the T6 screw (923-09169) from the antenna coaxial cable grounding clip. Then gently peel the Kapton tape from antenna 1 and the logic board.

  3. Use the antenna tool to lift the end of the antenna 1 coaxial cable off the connector.

  4. Rotate the logic board to access the other side. Use the adjustable torque driver and 5IP 50 mm bit to remove the eight 5IP screws (923-09170) from the antenna coaxial cable routing clips.

  5. Remove antenna 1 from the logic board.

Reassembly

  1. Position antenna 1 in the channel on the logic board as shown.

  2. Set the torque value of the adjustable torque driver to 10 Ncm. Then use the adjustable torque driver and 5IP 50 mm bit to reinstall the eight 5IP screws (923-09170) into the antenna coaxial cable routing clips and logic board in the order shown.

  3. Rotate the logic board to access the other side.

  4. Gently secure antenna 1 to the logic board with a piece of Kapton tape.

  5. Use the blunt end of the antenna tool to press the end of the antenna 1 coaxial cable to the connector (1).

    • Note: The other antenna coaxial cables (2, 3) are reconnected in the logic board reassembly steps.

  6. Set the torque value of the adjustable torque driver to 14.5 Ncm. Then use the adjustable torque driver and T6 70 mm bit to reinstall the T6 screw (923-09169) into the antenna coaxial cable grounding clip.
