Create and manage lists of contacts on iCloud.com
When you create a contact, it is placed in the All Contacts list. To help organise your contacts and make them easier to find, you can create additional lists.
Note: You need to be on a tablet or computer to use Contacts on iCloud.com.
Create a list
Lists are in alphabetical order, with All Contacts at the top of the list.
Go to icloud.com/contacts, then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary).
Select
in the sidebar.
Type a name for the list, then tap or press Return or Enter.
To change the list name later, select
(on a computer, hold your pointer over the list until
appears), select Rename List, then enter a new name in the text field. Tap or press Return or Enter.
Tip: You can create a new contact within a list. When the list is open, select
on the right, then add the contact details.
Add contacts to a list
You can have the same contacts in more than one list. When you move a contact to a new list, it remains in the old list, unless you remove it.
Go to icloud.com/contacts, then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary).
Select one or more contacts that you want to move.
Drag the contacts to a list in the sidebar on the left.
Remove a contact from a list
When you remove a contact from a list, it is removed from that list only. It remains in the All Contacts list.
If you delete a contact from the All Contacts list, it is deleted from all your devices that have Contacts turned on in iCloud settings.
Go to icloud.com/contacts, then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary).
Select the list that contains the contact you want to remove.
Select the contact, select
at the top of the contacts list, then choose Delete Contact. On a computer, you can also click the contact, then press Delete on your keyboard.
Delete a list
When you delete a list, the contacts it contains remain in the All Contacts list.
Go to icloud.com/contacts, then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary).
Select
(on a computer, hold your pointer over the list until
appears), then select Delete List.
If you accidentally delete a list or contact, you can restore an archived version of your contacts. See Restore contacts stored in iCloud on iCloud.com.
