Turn Bluetooth on or off on Mac
Turn off Bluetooth when you’re in places where radio communication may be prohibited, such as in an airplane or a hospital.
On your Mac, click the Bluetooth status icon in the Control Center or menu bar.
If you don’t see the Bluetooth status icon in the menu bar, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Bluetooth , then select “Show Bluetooth in menu bar.” Bluetooth is always available in Control Center.
Click the switch to turn Bluetooth on or off.
Note: If Bluetooth is turned off, features such as Continuity, Instant Hotspot, and Handoff may not work between your Mac and other devices.
You can also turn Bluetooth on or off in Bluetooth preferences. If you’re using an external USB Bluetooth adapter, Turn Bluetooth On or Turn Bluetooth Off may not appear in Bluetooth preferences. If you don’t see these options, unplug the adapter to turn off Bluetooth.
