
Create an Apple Intelligence & Siri configuration in Apple Business
The Apple Intelligence & Siri configuration allows you restrict Apple Intelligence & Siri on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro devices.
In Apple Business, sign in with a user whose role has permissions to create, edit, and delete device configurations.
To view roles and permissions, see Intro to roles and permissions.
In your browser, choose Devices > Configurations > All Configurations.
Select All Configurations, select Add
next to Apple Intelligence & Siri
, then enter a name for the configuration.Choose the platforms to create the configurations for, such as:
iOS 18 or later, iPadOS 18 or later
macOS 15 or later
visionOS 2.4 or later
Select any of the following to manage Apple Intelligence:
Allow Genmoji: Allow the use of Genmoji.
Allow Image Playground: Allow the use of Image Playground.
Allow Image Wand (iOS, iPadOS, visionOS): Allow the use of Image Wand.
Allow Personalized Handwriting (iOS, iPadOS): Allow the system to generate text in the user’s handwriting.
Allow Writing Tools: Allow the use of Writing Tools.
Allow Mail Summary: Allow summarization of content in Mail.
This doesn’t affect automatic summary generation.
Allow Safari Summary: Allow summarization of content in Safari.
Allow Mail Smart Replies: Allow smart replies in Mail.
Allow Apple Intelligence Reports: Allow generation of reports of requests sent to Private Cloud Compute.
Allow Visual Intelligence Summary (requires iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, or later): Allow summarization of information from visual intelligence.
Allow Notes Transcription (requires iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, macOS 15.3, or later): Allow the recording and transcribing of audio recorded in Notes.
Allow Notes Transcription Summary (requires iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, macOS 15.3, or later): Allow summarization of transcripts of audio recorded in Notes.
Select any of the following to manage Siri:
Allow Siri: Allow the use of Siri.
Allow Siri while locked (iOS and iPadOS): Siri responds only when the device is unlocked.
Require Siri profanity filter: Require the use of the Siri profanity filter.
Allow user-generated content in Siri (iOS and iPadOS): Allow Siri to access content from sources that allow user-generated content, such as Wikipedia.
Allow Siri Suggestions: During search, Siri can offer suggestions for apps, people, locations, and more.
Require on-device translation only: Prevents the device from connecting to Siri servers for the purposes of translation.
Require on-device dictation only: Prevents dictated content from being sent to Siri servers for processing.
Supported on the following devices:
iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, or later
iPad Air (3rd generation), iPad mini (5th generation), iPad Pro (2nd generation), or later
Mac computers with Apple silicon
Allow external intelligence integrations (requires iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, macOS 15.2, or later): Allow the use of external, cloud-based intelligence services with Siri.
Allow sign-in for external intelligence integrations (requires iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, macOS 15.2, or later): If not allowed, forces external intelligence providers into anonymous mode.
Note: If a user is already signed in to an external intelligence provider, applying this restriction signs them out.
If necessary, enter External Intelligence Workspace ID to allow that external integration workspace ID to be used.
Requires the following:
Sign-in to make requests
Supervision
iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, macOS 15.3, or later.
Select Save.
