Add or remove custom reference modes on Mac

On your Mac, you can create or delete custom reference modes for your display. You can also import and export files that contain settings for custom reference modes.

To add or remove a custom reference mode, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Displays in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Click the Preset pop-up menu, then choose Customize Presets.

Note: These options only appear when you’re using Apple Pro Display XDR, Apple Studio Display, a 14-inch MacBook Pro (2021 or later), or a 16-inch MacBook Pro (2021 or later).

Option				Description
Show in Menu				Select which reference modes appear in the Display menu in Control Center. If none are selected, then all available reference modes appear in the Display Menu in Control Center.
Add button				Select an existing reference mode, then click to create a custom reference mode.
Remove button				To remove a custom reference mode, select it, then click .
Action menu				Click the Action pop-up menu, then choose one of the following: Import: Import a file that contains the settings for a custom reference mode. Export: Export a file that contains the settings for a custom reference mode. Remove All: Deletes all custom reference modes.
