Siri AI: Learn about what’s on your Mac screen
When you turn on Siri AI (Beta), Siri can tap into Visual Intelligence to ask questions, take action, and search based on what’s on your Mac screen.
Siri AI is available in beta on macOS 27 or later on an Apple Intelligence-enabled MacBook Neo (A18 Pro) or Mac model with M1 or later with Siri and device language set to a supported language. Available in English to start. Usage limits may apply.* | |||||||||||
Ask Siri questions about what’s on your screen
On your Mac, activate Siri, then ask a question about something on your screen.
For example, say something like:
“Explain this from my class notes” with a diagram open in the Notes app.
Or select two documents in the Finder, Control-click one of them, choose Ask Siri, then ask Siri something like, “Which quarterly report grew faster?”
Swipe down on Siri’s answer to start a conversation with Siri and ask follow-up questions.
Ask questions about and take action on screenshots
On your Mac, do one of the following:
Press Command-Shift-Space bar to select a window.
Press Command-Shift-6, then click and hold your mouse or trackpad to select a portion of your screen.
Do any of the following:
Ask a specific question about what’s in the screenshot: Enter a question in the Ask Siri field that appears—for example, “What place is this and how do I get there?”
Take action: Click an action that appears. For example, select an image of a recipe, then choose “Look up nutrition” when it appears.
Search for similar images on the internet: Click Image Search.
You can choose which Siri features you can use and which content Siri can access in Screen Time settings. See Change Siri Restrictions settings in Screen Time.
