About apps and progress data in Schoolwork
Schoolwork displays different progress data for the activities you assign to your students.
For an activity in a progress-reporting app, the app automatically sends information about how students are doing as they complete the activity in the app. At a minimum, every progress-reporting app sends time spent data.
For a list of apps that provide student progress, visit Get Schooled With ClassKit. When purchasing apps in Apple School Manager, your school’s IT administrator should look for the Works with Schoolwork badge to find apps that provide student progress.
For other activities (for example, a link or PDF), you only see whether or not a student marked the activity as done.
Progress data | Notes |
---|---|
Percentage ![]() | For apps that report a progress percentage, Schoolwork displays the progress each student made and the average progress for all students with data across all their attempts before the due date. In the example shown, students on average completed 99% of the activity in 19 minutes. |
Score | For apps that report a score, Schoolwork displays the score for each student and the average score for all students with data, based on their most recent attempt before the due date. Schoolwork computes scores as the percentage of X points out of a possible Y points. |
Count ![]() | For apps that report a total count, Schoolwork displays the count each student earned and the average count earned by all students with data, based on their most recent attempt before the due date. Apps can send count categories such as hints used, star points, badges earned, or questions answered. |
Binary | For apps that report binary information, Schoolwork displays how many students successfully completed the activity, based on their most recent attempt before the due date. Apps can send binary categories such as Yes | No, True | False, Pass | Not Yet, or Correct | Incorrect. |
None ![]() | For apps that don’t report progress data, Schoolwork displays progress data for each student who marked the activity as done (tapped Mark Done), but no additional student progress. |
