Manage your Apple Account sign-in details on Mac
You can add email addresses and phone numbers to your Apple Account, then use them to sign in. Friends and family also use them to share notes and documents with you and to reach you using iMessage, FaceTime, and more.
The first email address in the list is your primary email, which is used to receive emails from Apple. It is also visible to people you collaborate and share documents with using iCloud.
Add an email address or phone number
Go to the System Settings app
on your Mac.
Click your name at the top of the sidebar.
If you don’t see your name, click “Sign in,” enter your Apple Account email address or phone number, then enter your password.
Click Sign-In & Security, then click Add an Email or Phone Number below Email & Phone Numbers.
Enter an email address or phone number, then click Next.
Enter the code sent to the email address or phone number, then click Next.
Remove an email address or phone number
Go to the System Settings app
on your Mac.
Click your name at the top of the sidebar.
If you don’t see your name, click “Sign in,” enter your Apple Account email address or phone number, then enter your password.
Click Sign-In & Security.
Below Email & Phone Numbers, select an item, then click Remove from Account.
You can’t remove email addresses or phone numbers currently in use by iMessage or FaceTime. See Change iMessage settings in Messages and Change General settings in FaceTime.
If you want to remove your primary email, you must make another email address your primary email first. See the Apple Support article Change your Apple Account primary email address.
Tip: In some locations, you can have a primary phone number instead of an email address. See the Apple Support article Using your phone number for Apple Account instead of an email address.
You can also manage your Apple Account email addresses and phone numbers by signing in to your Apple Account page.
