Select areas by drawing in the canvas in Pixelmator Pro on Mac
You can use any of the several drawing selection tools to make custom selections in your images.
In Pixelmator Pro on Mac, select any of the drawing selection tools from the tool group in the Tools sidebar:
Free Selection
Polygonal Selection
Magnetic Selection.
Tip: Press Shift-L to cycle through the Free, Magnetic, and Polygonal selection tools.
Depending on the tool you selected, do one of the following:
Free Selection: Drag in the canvas to draw a selection.
Polygonal Selection: Click in the canvas to make an anchor point, then click again to add additional anchor points. When you finish adding anchor points, click the original anchor point to make the selection. You can also double-click to close the polygon, and make the selection.
Magnetic Selection: Click in the canvas on the edge of an element in the image to place the first anchor point, then move the pointer to guide your selection around the element's edge. To place another anchor point and lock the selection segment you just drew, click again, then continue moving the pointer. To close the selection, click the first anchor point.
