You can apply content restrictions on apps in the App Store. If you set up Family Sharing, you can set Screen Time limits and age restrictions for kids.
Apply content restrictions
Go to the System Settings app
on your Mac.
Click Screen Time
in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
If you’re a parent or guardian in a Family Sharing group, click the Family Member pop-up menu and choose a family member.
Click Content & Privacy, then turn on Content & Privacy.
Do any of the following:
Restrict certain types of content and actions: Click App Store, Media, Web, & Games, then choose to allow or disallow actions.
Restrict movies, TV shows, and app purchases: Click Store Restrictions, then choose Allow All, Don’t Allow, or a specific rating level used in your country or region.
Set Screen Time limits and App Store restrictions for kids
With Family Sharing, the organizer—or another adult designated as a parent/guardian—can set up the following parental controls for children or other members in the Family Sharing group:
Allow your child to access only age-appropriate apps. See Share your age range with apps.
Set restrictions for installing and deleting apps and for in-app purchases. See Set up content and privacy restrictions.
Review your child’s requests to purchase and download apps. See Turn on Ask to Buy.
Set time limits for apps. See Set time limits for apps and websites.
