Delete a recording on Mac
Delete recordings you no longer need.
Important: When you permanently delete a recording, it’s removed from all of your devices where you’re signed into iCloud using the same Apple ID.
Delete a recording
In the Voice Memos app on your Mac, select the recording in the sidebar you want to delete.
Click the Delete button or press Delete.
If you have a trackpad or a Magic Mouse, you can swipe left with two fingers on the recording, then click .
Unless you set preferences to clear deleted recordings immediately, they’re available for the specified amount of time in the Recently Deleted folder, located in the folder sidebar. See Change preferences.
Recover a recording from Recently Deleted
In the Voice Memos app on your Mac, click the Sidebar button .
Select Recently Deleted, then select the recording you want to recover.
Click the Recover button in the upper-right corner, then click Recover Recording.
To restore all deleted recordings, click Recover All at the bottom of the sidebar.
Permanently erase a recording from Recently Deleted
In the Voice Memos app on your Mac, click the Sidebar button .
Select Recently Deleted, then select the recording you want to permanently erase.
Click Delete in the upper-right corner, then click Delete Forever.
If you have a trackpad or a Magic Mouse, swipe left with two fingers on the recording, then click Delete.
To erase all deleted recordings, click Delete All at the bottom of the sidebar.
