Keyboard shortcuts and gestures in Maps on Mac
There are several ways to navigate maps, including using keyboard shortcuts. If you have a trackpad, you have additional options.
To find shortcuts for common commands, look in the menus.

Show your current location | Click the Current Location button Press Command-L. | ||||||||||
Move up or down, left or right | Click and hold the mouse or trackpad, then drag the map. On a trackpad, you can also drag using two fingers. Press the arrow keys. | ||||||||||
Rotate the map | Click and hold the compass while you drag left and right, or up and down. On a trackpad, rotate using two fingers. Press Option-Left Arrow (to rotate counterclockwise) or Option-Right Arrow (to rotate clockwise). | ||||||||||
Tilt the map | Click the 3D button in the toolbar, then press and hold the trackpad or mouse while you drag the slider in the lower-right corner. | ||||||||||
Return to the north-facing orientation | Click the compass. Press Command-Up Arrow. | ||||||||||
Zoom in | Click the zoom in button Double-click. On a trackpad, pinch two fingers open. Press Command-Plus Sign (+). | ||||||||||

Switch between map, transit, and satellite views | Choose View > Default, View > Transit, or View > Satellite. Press Command-1, Command-2, or Command-3. | ||||||||||
