Resolve Google Workspace user account conflicts in Apple Business Manager
Conflicts can occur in one of the following ways:
The Google Workspace Sync connection was disconnected and connected back again, and an Apple Business Manager account was imported using Google Workspace Sync.
An Apple Business Manager user account has a Person ID value and a Managed Apple ID that matches a Google Workspace user name you’re attempting to import using Google Workspace Sync.
Person ID
When a Google Workspace user is synced to Apple Business Manager, a Person ID is created for the Apple Business Manager user account. Person ID and Object ID are used to identify conflicting user accounts.
If you modify the Person ID for an account previously imported from Google Workspace Sync, that account is no longer paired with Google Workspace.
Manually resolve account conflicts
If you want a conflicting account to be connected to Google Workspace Sync, you can manually resolve the conflict.
In Apple Business Manager , sign in with a user that has the role of Administrator or People Manager.
Tap your name at the bottom of the sidebar, tap Preferences , then tap Directory Sync .
Under Google Workspace Sync section, carefully read the Account Conflict message, then tap Resolve.
Tap the Download Conflicts button to download a list of account conflicts, then review the conflicts.
If the conflicting accounts are identical to each other in Google Workspace and Apple Business Manager, tap Merge.
