Remove color banding in an image in Pixelmator Pro on Mac
Color banding appears as visible bands in what should be smooth color gradients. You might see this effect in images with limited color information or in images that have been heavily compressed. The Deband feature in Pixelmator Pro can remove these artifacts and make colors appear smoother, and more natural.
In Pixelmator Pro on Mac, select a layer in the Layers sidebar.
Choose Format > Deband.
Pixelmator Pro automatically smooths banded areas in the image, and shows a before-and-after split-view comparison, with the original image on the left, and the debanded version on the right. Drag the vertical divider to compare the original image (on the left) to the debanded version (on the right).
Click Done.
Tip: For best results, change the color depth of the image to 16 bits per channel before using Deband.
