Turn on parental controls and authorize discs
To restrict access to DVDs for certain users, such as children, turn on parental controls in DVD Player. If parental controls are enabled, the computer administrator needs to authorize any DVD before it can play. You can authorize the DVD for one time only, or for every time it’s inserted.
Turn on parental controls
Choose Features > Enable Parental Control, then enter an administrator name and password.
To remove parental controls, choose Features > Disable Parental Control.
Authorize a DVD for the first time
When you insert the DVD, select how you want to authorize the DVD.
To allow the movie to be played this time only, but require authorization next time, click Play Once.
To allow the movie to be played this time and every time, click Always Allow.
Enter an administrator name and password when prompted.
Set the authorization requirement for a DVD
After the DVD starts playing, choose File > Get Disc Info, then select Parental Control.
Click the lock icon to change settings.
Enter an administrator name and password when prompted.
Select how you want to authorize the DVD:
To require an administrator name and password every time, select “Always ask for authorization.”
To allow the DVD to be played without restriction, select “Always allow to be played.”
Remove authorization for a DVD
While the DVD is playing, choose Features > Deauthorize Media.
Enter an administrator name and password when prompted.
DVD Player ejects the DVD.
