Allow apps to detect the location of your Mac
Some apps and websites use information about your current location to provide you with certain information, services, and features appropriate to where you are. For example, an app might use your information to help you find nearby coffee shops or theaters. Your location is approximated using data from nearby Wi-Fi networks.
Information about your location is collected by Location Services in a way that doesn’t personally identify you. The information is used only by the apps that you authorize to obtain it. This feature isn’t available in all countries or regions.
To authorize an app or a website to use your location information, click Allow in the dialog. If you don’t want to authorize the use of location information, click Don’t Allow.
If you allow third-party apps or websites to use your current location, any information they collect is governed by their terms and privacy policies. It’s recommended that you learn about the privacy practices of those parties.
You can review and change which apps and websites can use the location of your Mac in Privacy & Security settings.
Choose Apple menu in the sidebar, then click Location Services. (You may need to scroll down.)
