Follow rhythm from chords and other tracks in Logic Pro for iPad
You can set Session Player regions to place rhythmic emphasis on chord changes and to follow the rhythm of another track. You can set these options for each individual Session Player region, allowing you to create interesting rhythmic variations for different parts of your song.
You may find, for example, that it makes more musical sense during the chorus to have the Drummer and Bass Player follow the rhythm of a guitar track. Or perhaps it sounds better when the Keyboard Player emphasizes the chord changes in the intro but lays back during the verse.
The option to follow the rhythm of chords is turned on by default. Session Player regions follow chords in the global Chord track or their individual region chords, depending on that region’s settings in the Session Player Editor. See Chords and Session Players.
Follow rhythm of another track
In Logic Pro, select a Session Player region in the Tracks area.
In the Session Player Editor, depending on what kind of Session Player region is selected, do one of the following:
Bass Player and Keyboard Player: Tap the Patterns button.
Drummer: Tap the Patterns button for the Kick and Snare kit pieces.
Below Follow Rhythm Of, choose a track from the Track pop-up menu.
Note: The Track pop-up menu is not available for the Percussionist Session Player type.
