Intro to Tap to Pay on iPhone in Apple Business
Tap to Pay on iPhone lets you accept contactless payments, right on iPhone—without any extra terminals or hardware. Accept payments from contactless credit or debit cards, Apple Pay, Apple Watch, and smartphones with other digital wallets. All you need is a supported app from the App Store. To learn more, see How Tap to Pay on iPhone can benefit your business.
If you develop your own apps for your organization, learn more how to integrate Tap to Pay on iPhone in the Developer Portal.
If you use third-party apps for payment acceptance, ask your app provider and your payment service provider if they support Tap to Pay on iPhone. You can see a full list of supported payment service providers here.
When you accept the Tap to Pay on iPhone terms and conditions, your unique merchant ID (defined by your payment service provider), merchant category code, and your organization name are linked to Tap to Pay on iPhone.
Note: Your Tap to Pay on iPhone merchant ID may be different from the “MID” identifiers provided to you by your payment service provider as part of your merchant account.
The icon and name for your organization that originally appear on the Tap to Pay on iPhone interface are determined by the information the payment service provider assigned to you when you first enable Tap to Pay on iPhone.
You can change the displayed icon and name by linking your verified brand in Apple Business to the Tap to Pay on iPhone merchant ID provided by your payment service provider.
