Charge a Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, or Magic Trackpad with Mac
When you connect your Apple Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, or Magic Trackpad to your Mac, it automatically charges.
Connect the Lightning end of a USB-C to Lightning Cable or a Lightning to USB Cable to your keyboard, mouse, or trackpad, and then connect the other end to the USB-C or USB port on your Mac.
Note: Depending on your Mac, you may need an adapter, which is available from an Apple Store or on apple.com.
When your keyboard, mouse, or trackpad is charged, you receive a notification on your screen or display that you can disconnect the cable and use your device wirelessly.
Note: You must disconnect your Magic Mouse to use it with your Mac. You can use your Magic Keyboard or Magic Trackpad while it’s connected to your Mac.
If you won’t be using your keyboard, mouse, or trackpad for an extended period of time, turn it off to maximize battery life. To turn it off, use the on/off switch.
