Import into iMovie on iPad from iCloud Drive
If you use iCloud, you can import a video clip or an iMovie project from iCloud Drive.
iCloud Drive requires iOS 8 or later, iPadOS 13 or later, a Mac with OS X Yosemite v10.10 or later, or a PC with Windows 7 or later.
Important: If you use iCloud Photos, you can’t sync your photos or video clips using the Finder or iTunes. See Transfer media to iMovie on iPad.
Import an iMovie project from iCloud Drive
In the Projects browser, tap the More Options button at the bottom of the screen, then tap Import Project.
Tap Browse, then navigate to the iMovie folder.
Tap the name of the project you want to import.
When the import is complete, the project opens and can be edited in the same way as any other project.
Import a video clip from iCloud Drive
Create a movie project, or open an existing project for editing.
Tap the Add Media button in the upper-right corner, then tap Files.
Tap Browse, tap iCloud Drive, navigate to the clip you want to import, and then tap to select it.
