Sign in to Shared iPad
The Shared iPad sign-in process varies depending on how you’ve configured Apple Business. If you use federated authentication, the first time a user signs in, they enter their Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, or your identity provider (IdP) user name and a Shared iPad passcode. For user accounts that use Apple for authentication, the user enters their Managed Apple Account and their Managed Apple Account password.
Tip: You can bring up the Wi-Fi picker on Shared iPad while at the sign-in screen by pressing the Home button or Touch ID sensor twice or the Sleep/Wake button twice on an iPad without a Home button.

The user enters their Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, or their IdP user name and password.
If not done yet, the user is asked to create a Shared iPad passcode, then confirms it by entering it again.
The next time the user signs in, they do so with their Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, or your IdP user name and new Shared iPad passcode.
