Stream content to Apple TV with Home Sharing in iTunes on PC
With Apple TV (2nd generation or later), you can stream content to your home cinema system from any iTunes library in your Home Sharing network. You can also stream digital photos stored on your computer.
To stream content to Apple TV, you must set up Home Sharing in iTunes and on Apple TV.
Set up Home Sharing on your computer
In the iTunes app on your PC, choose File > Home Sharing > Turn On Home Sharing.
Type your Apple ID and password, then click Turn On Home Sharing.
Repeat these steps for each computer you want to use to stream content to Apple TV, using the same Apple ID and password.
Set up Home Sharing on Apple TV
On Apple TV, choose Settings > Accounts > Home Sharing.
Choose Turn On Home Sharing, then enter the same Apple ID and password you entered on your computer.
Stream your iTunes films or TV programmes to Apple TV
On your PC, make sure your iTunes app is open.
On your Apple TV, do one of the following:
Stream a film: Choose Films, then choose Purchased from the top menu.
The films you’ve purchased or rented appear on Apple TV. To play an item, select it.
Stream a TV programme: Choose TV Programmes, then choose Purchased from the top menu.
The TV programmes you’ve purchased appear on Apple TV. To play an item, select it.
Stream photos from your computer to Apple TV
After Home Sharing is set up on your computer and on Apple TV, you can use iTunes to stream photos to your home theatre system.
In the iTunes app on your PC, choose File > Home Sharing > Choose Photos to Share with Apple TV.
In the window that appears, select Share Photos From, then choose a source from the pop-up menu.
Do one of the following:
Choose “All photos and albums”.
Choose “Selected albums” then select the items you want to stream.
Click Apply.
