On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click [your name] at the top of the sidebar.
If you don’t see your name, click Sign in with your Apple ID to enter your Apple ID or to create one.
Click Media & Purchases on the right.
Note: You must be signed in with your Apple ID to the App Store, iTunes Store, Apple Books, or Apple TV to access Media & Purchases settings.
Do any of the following:
View and update the Apple ID settings you use for purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store, Apple Books, Apple TV: Click Manage next to Account.

Require Touch ID for free downloads and purchases: Turn on Touch ID for Purchases to require Touch ID to complete free downloads and purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store, Apple Books, and Apple TV.
Require a password for free downloads and purchases: If you don’t turn on Touch ID for Purchases, you can choose to require a password when downloading free content, purchasing something from the App Store, iTunes Store, Apple Books, or Apple TV, or making a purchase from within an app.
To set an option for free downloads, click the pop-up menu next to Free Downloads and choose Always Require or Never Require.
To set an option for purchases, click the pop-up menu next to Purchases and In-App Purchases, then choose Always Require, Never Require, or “Require after 15 minutes” to require a password only after a period of 15 minutes has elapsed since the last purchase.
