You can enter a new name and location for your printer so that other users can find it more easily. This information appears in Printers & Scanners settings.
Change a printer’s name and location
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Printers & Scanners in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
Click the printer in the Printers list.
Do any of the following:
Name: Enter a descriptive name for the printer (for example, Color Laser Printer).
Location: Enter the printer’s location (for example, “outside my office”).
Share this printer on the network: Click this button to make this printer available to others on the network. If you have not set up your Mac to share printers, click the Open Sharing Settings button and turn on Printer Sharing.
