Configure an Apple Intelligence & Siri setting in Apple Business Essentials
The Apple Intelligence & Siri setting allows you restrict Apple Intelligence & Siri on iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices.
Note: This setting requires iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15, or later.
In Apple Business Essentials, sign in with a user that has the role of Administrator.
Select Settings in the sidebar, then select All Settings.
Select the Add button next to Apple Intelligence & Siri.
Under Platform, select the operating systems you would like to configure this setting for.
Select any of the following to manage Apple Intelligence:
Allow Genmoji: Allow the use of Genmoji.
Allow Image Playground: Allow the use of Image Playground.
Allow Image Wand (iOS and iPadOS): Allow the use of Image Wand.
Allow Personalized Handwriting (iOS and iPadOS): Allow the system to generate text in the user’s handwriting.
Allow Writing Tools: Allow the use of Writing Tools.
Allow Mail Summary: Allow manual creation of email summaries.
This doesn’t affect automatic summary generation.
Select any of the following to manage Siri:
Allow Siri: Allow the use of Siri.
Allow Siri while locked (iOS and iPadOS): Siri responds only when the device is unlocked.
Require Siri profanity filter: Require the use of the Siri profanity filter.
User-generated content in Siri (iOS and iPadOS): Allow Siri to access content from sources that allow user-generated content, such as Wikipedia.
Allow Siri Suggestions: During search, Siri can offer suggestions for apps, people, locations, and more.
Allow external intelligence integrations (requires iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, macOS 18.2, or later): Allow the use of external, cloud-based intelligence services with Siri.
Allow sign-in for external intelligence integrations (requires iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, macOS 18.2, or later): If not allowed, forces external intelligence providers into anonymous mode.
Note: If a user is already signed in to an external intelligence provider, applying this restriction signs them out.
Require on-device translation only: Prevents the device from connecting to Siri servers for the purposes of translation.
Require on-device dictation only: Prevents dictated content from being sent to Siri servers for processing.
Supported on the following devices:
iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, or later
iPad Air (3rd generation), iPad mini (5th generation), iPad Pro (2nd generation), or later
Mac computers with Apple silicon
Select Save.
