Manage your Classwork classes, teachers and students
To help you better manage Classwork classes, teachers and students, follow the best practices outlined in this topic.
When Apple School Manager integrates with your organisation’s Student Information System (SIS) and SFTP information, Apple automatically creates teacher and student Managed Apple Accounts for your organisation. In addition, when teachers and students open Classwork, Classwork automatically populates the sidebar with all their Apple School Manager classes.
If your organisation doesn’t integrate with SIS or SFTP information, teachers can request accounts to use with Classwork, then manually create student accounts and classes within Classwork.
Use mobile device management (MDM) to remotely distribute the Classwork app to teacher and student devices and automatically keep Classwork up to date.
Enable the Improving Classwork feature in Apple School Manager’s organisation settings to allow Apple to process non-personally identifying Classwork data using techniques such as machine learning to improve the app. For example, Apple may process Classwork data to understand trends in usage, customise user experience and develop new education features for the app. To ensure transparency, a notification appears on the screen the first time teachers and students open Classwork using their Managed Apple Account after Improving Classwork is enabled. For more information, contact your school’s IT administrator. See About privacy and security for Apple products in education.
Set up content caching on your network to reduce internet data usage and speed up Apple content downloads, including multimedia and activity files added to Classwork assignments. See Content types supported by content caching.
