Before You Begin

Read Battery Safety and follow workspace and battery handling guidelines before you begin.

Remove the following parts before you begin:

• Bottom Case

• Antenna

• Speakers

• USB-C Boards

• Audio Board

• Logic Board

• Battery

• Battery Foam

• Display

• Trackpad Interposer Flex Cable

• Trackpad

• Touch ID Interposer Flex Cable

• Keyboard Shield

• Touch ID Board

• Keyboard with Touch ID or Keyboard without Touch ID

Tools

No tools are required for this procedure.

Removal

There are no additional removal steps.

Reassembly

A replacement top case includes the following preinstalled parts:

• Microphone

• Microphone flex cable

Reinstall the following parts to complete reassembly:

Note: The keyboard with Touch ID or keyboard without Touch ID, keyboard shield, Touch ID interposer flex cable, and trackpad interposer flex cable will be installed as new parts.

• Keyboard with Touch ID or Keyboard without Touch ID

• Touch ID Board

• Keyboard Shield

• Touch ID Interposer Flex Cable

• Trackpad

• Trackpad Interposer Flex Cable

• Display

• Battery Foam

• Battery

• Logic Board

• Audio Board

• USB-C Boards

• Speakers

• Antenna

• Bottom Case
