MacBook Neo Touch ID Interposer Flex Cable
Before You Begin
Warning
Read Battery Safety and follow workspace and battery handling guidelines before you begin.
Remove the following part before you begin:
Tools
ESD-safe tweezers
Nylon probe (black stick) (optional)
Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.
Removal
Note: If you’ve already completed the removal steps, skip to reassembly.
Use ESD-safe tweezers or the black stick to flip up the locking bar on the end of the camera/ambient light sensor (ALS)/display flex cable. Slide the end of the flex cable out of the connector. Then lift the flex cable from the foam channel as shown.

Use ESD-safe tweezers to remove the three long foam pieces from the top case.

Use the flat end of the black stick to remove any residual foam from the keyboard shield.

Use the flat end of the black stick to flip up the locking lever on the Touch ID interposer flex cable connector on the logic board. Then slide the end of the flex cable out of the connector.

Use ESD-safe tweezers to flip up the locking lever on the Touch ID board flex cable connector on the Touch ID interposer flex cable. Then slide the end of the Touch ID board flex cable out of the connector.

Starting from the logic board side, gently peel up the Touch ID interposer flex cable, using the black stick as necessary. Then remove the flex cable from the top case.

Reassembly
Remove the adhesive liner on the replacement Touch ID interposer flex cable located under the end of the flex cable that connects to the Touch ID board flex cable.
Caution: Don't remove the other three adhesive liners from the Touch ID interposer flex cable yet.

Slide the end of the Touch ID board flex cable into the connector on the Touch ID interposer flex cable. Then flip down the locking lever.

Slide the end of the Touch ID interposer flex cable into the connector on the logic board. Then flip down the locking lever.

Remove the remaining three adhesive liners on the Touch ID interposer flex cable.

Press the Touch ID interposer flex cable on the three areas shown for 30 seconds each to adhere the flex cable to the keyboard shield.

Remove the long foam from its bottom liner as shown, but keep the top liner in place.

Position the long foam in the top case as shown.
Align the left edge of the long foam vertically with the left edge of the battery.
Align the bottom piece of long foam horizontally along the edge of the battery tray.

Press along the length of the three long foam pieces to adhere them to the keyboard shield.

Peel the top liner off the long foam.

Slide the end of the camera/ALS/display flex cable into the connector. Then flip down the locking bar.

Press the camera/ALS/display flex cable into the foam channel.

Reinstall the following part to complete reassembly:
