Change Sidecar preferences on Mac
On your Mac, use Sidecar System Preferences to set up your iPad as a second display for your Mac and customize how the sidebar and Touch Bar are shown on iPad.
To change these preferences, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Sidecar.
Note: To use Sidecar, make sure you sign in with the same Apple ID on your Mac and a nearby iPad (two-factor authentication must be turned on for your Apple ID).
Click the pop-up menu to choose which iPad (if more than one is available) to use as a second display for your Mac.
Select the checkbox to show the sidebar on your iPad, then choose a location from the pop-up menu.
Show Touch Bar
Select the checkbox to show the Touch Bar on your iPad, then choose a location from the pop-up menu.
When you use an app that supports the Touch Bar on your iPad, the Touch Bar is shown in the location you specified. The buttons available in the Touch Bar vary depending on the current app and task.
Enable double tap on Apple Pencil
Select the checkbox to be able to double-tap the lower section of Apple Pencil to switch drawing tools in some apps (if your Apple Pencil supports it).
See the Apple Support article Connect Apple Pencil with your iPad.
You don’t need to connect your iPad to your Mac with a cable to use Sidecar.
