Get live descriptions of your surroundings with Live Recognition on Apple Vision Pro

Important: Live Recognition should not be relied upon in circumstances where you could be harmed or injured, in high-risk situations, for navigation, or for the diagnosis or treatment of any medical condition.

With Live Recognition, Apple Vision Pro can describe your surroundings—including scenes, people, furniture, and text—using speech, braille, or sounds.

Set up Live Recognition

Go to the Settings app on your Apple Vision Pro.
Tap Accessibility, then tap Live Recognition.
Set any of the following:
- Ask: Set a default question that’s asked automatically when you start an Ask session in Live Recognition.
- Preferred Input: Choose Speak or Type to interact with Live Recognition.
- Activities: Tap , then create an activity that you can quickly turn on with the Live Recognition rotor.
- Scenes: Choose Speech or Braille to have Live Recognition describe what’s in front of you.
- People: Choose Speech, Braille, or Sounds to be notified when a person is detected.
- Furniture: Choose Speech, Braille, or Sounds to be notified when furniture is detected.
- Text: Choose Speech or Braille to have text around you read aloud or shown in braille.
To add Live Recognition to the Accessibility Shortcut, go to the Settings app , tap Accessibility, tap Accessibility Shortcut, then tap Live Recognition.
