iPhone 18 Pro Front Camera
Before You Begin
Warning
Read Battery Safety and follow workspace and battery handling guidelines before you begin.
The front camera includes one or more lasers. Disassembly of the front camera, damage to the front camera, or failure to use genuine Apple parts could expose you to hazardous infrared laser emissions, possibly resulting in injuries to eyes or skin.
Remove the following parts before you begin:
Tools
ESD-safe tweezers
Nitrile or lint-free gloves
Nylon probe (black stick)
Refer to a full list of tools required for all repairs.
Caution
Wearing nitrile or lint-free gloves is recommended to prevent contamination of the camera lenses.
Important
If you replace this part, it’s required to run Repair Assistant in order to enable security features. Repair Assistant will be available on the device after you’ve completed all reassembly steps.
Removal
Note: If you’ve already completed the removal steps, skip to reassembly.
Lift the end of the USB-C connector flex cable off the connector.
Note: One of the front camera flex cables lies underneath the USB-C connector flex cable.
Lift the ends of the three front camera flex cables off the connectors.
Note: One of the front camera flex cables lies under another flex cable as shown.
Lift the front camera out of the enclosure.
- Caution
Lift the three front camera flex cables as a group.
Avoid damaging the foam on the end of the flex cables.
Reassembly
If you’re installing a replacement front camera, inspect it for damage. If it’s damaged or the camera cap is missing, order a replacement front camera.
- Caution: Leave the camera cap on until just before you apply the replacement display adhesive.
Lower the front camera into the enclosure.
Important: Ensure that the top edge of the front camera is aligned with the lip of the enclosure.
- Caution: Avoid touching the grounding springs.
Press the ends of the three front camera flex cables (1-3) to the connectors.
Important: Position the flex cable on the right on top of the middle flex cable as shown.
Note: Flex cable (3) is connected underneath flex cable (2).
Press the end of the USB-C connector flex cable to the connector.
- Caution
Don’t remove the camera cap until just before you apply the replacement display adhesive.
Ensure that the camera is properly aligned when reinstalling the display.
Reinstall the following parts to complete reassembly:

After you’ve completed all reassembly steps, Repair Assistant will be available on the device and is required to enable security features. Learn how to initiate Repair Assistant.
