Enter Latin characters with a Chinese input method on Mac
When you use a Chinese input source, you can enter Latin characters (such as English or French), and convert them between half-width and full-width.
Enter Latin characters
In an app on your Mac, type Latin characters, then select the characters in the candidate window. For uppercase Latin characters, press and hold the Shift key while you type.
Convert Latin characters between half-width and full-width
When you enter Latin characters with a Chinese input source, they’re entered as half-width by default. You can convert them to full-width so they’re spaced to align with Chinese text. This is useful when you use both Latin and Chinese characters and alignment is important, as in tables.
In an app on your Mac, select the half-width or full-width Latin characters you want to convert, click the Input menu in the menu bar, then choose Convert Text to Full Width or Convert Text to Half Width.
