Important safety information for Studio Display XDR
WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in fire, electric shock, or other injuries, or damage to your Studio Display XDR or other property. Read all safety information below before using your Studio Display XDR.
Handling. Set up your Studio Display XDR on a hard, stable work surface that allows for adequate air circulation under and around it. Never push objects into the ventilation openings. Your Studio Display XDR can be damaged if dropped, burned, punctured, or crushed, or if it comes in contact with liquids, oils, and lotions. Don’t use a damaged Studio Display XDR, such as one with a cracked screen, as it may cause injury.
Liquid exposure. Keep your Studio Display XDR away from sources of liquid, such as drinks, oils, lotions, washbasins, bathtubs, shower stalls, and so on. Protect your Studio Display XDR from dampness, humidity, or wet weather, such as rain, snow, and fog.
Temperature. Don’t expose Studio Display XDR to excessive temperatures (ambient operating temperature should be 50° to 95° F or 10° to 35° C), moisture, or humidity. Studio Display XDR is not recommended for outside use.
Ventilation. Don’t block the back ventilation opening of your Studio Display XDR. Don’t place Studio Display XDR where ventilation is restricted (for example, in a cabinet or directly against a wall).
Precautions. A display may fall, causing serious personal injury or death. Many injuries, particularly to children, can be avoided by taking these precautions:
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions when using a stand or adapter to mount your Studio Display XDR.
Always use furniture that can safely support your Studio Display XDR.
Always ensure your Studio Display XDR is not overhanging the edge of supporting furniture.
Always educate children about the dangers of climbing on furniture to reach your Studio Display XDR.
Always keep hands and fingers away from the moving parts of the stand to avoid being pinched.
Always route cords and cables connected to your Studio Display XDR so that they cannot be tripped over, pulled, or grabbed.
Always route cords and cables connected to your Studio Display XDR in such a way that allows you to safely rotate the display.
Never place your Studio Display XDR in an unstable location.
Never place your Studio Display XDR on tall furniture (for example, a cupboard or bookcase) without anchoring both the furniture and Studio Display XDR to a suitable support.
Never place your Studio Display XDR on cloth or other materials that may be located between Studio Display XDR and supporting furniture.
Never place items on or around your Studio Display XDR that might tempt children to climb on top of the display or the furniture on which it’s placed.
VESA mount adapter. Read all the installation instructions and safety information that came with your VESA-compliant 100x100 mm mounting solution before attaching it to the VESA mount adapter. Follow these instructions to ensure the proper setup of your Studio Display XDR and VESA mounting solution:
Make sure the VESA mounting solution and installation method (type of bolt or bracket) are sufficient to handle the weight of the Studio Display XDR and VESA adapter (up to 6.3 kg/13.9 lbs).
Verify that the mounting plate thickness and screw length will enable the screw to fully fasten and clamp the mounting plate to the 8mm of available thread on the VESA mount adapter.
Select a mounting location where the Studio Display XDR will be free from accidental impact.
Don’t mount the Studio Display XDR so that it faces downwards (for example, on the ceiling) or at more than a 5° downward or 25° upward tilt.
Important: Agency Compliance Information and the serial number are marked on the bottom of the stand of your Studio Display XDR or the side of your built-in VESA mount adapter and may be obscured when using the VESA mount adapter with some mounting solutions.
Power. Unplug the power cord (by pulling the plug, not the cord) and disconnect all cables if any of the following conditions exists:
The power cord or plug becomes frayed or otherwise damaged.
You spill something into the case.
Studio Display XDR is exposed to rain or excess moisture.
Studio Display XDR has been dropped, or the case has been damaged.
You suspect that Studio Display XDR needs service or repair.
You want to clean the Studio Display XDR case.
Important: The only way to turn off power completely is to unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Make sure the power cord is within easy reach so that you can unplug your Studio Display XDR when you need to.
Note: The power cord is not removable from the display.

WARNING: Your AC cord has a three-wire grounding plug (a plug that has a grounding pin). This plug fits only a grounded AC outlet. If you’re unable to insert the plug into an outlet because the outlet isn’t grounded, contact a licensed electrician to replace the outlet with a properly grounded one. Do not defeat the purpose of the grounding pin.
Ensure you use the Thunderbolt (USB-C) cable included with your display to connect your Mac, iPad, or other devices and accessories to the upstream Thunderbolt (USB-C) port on your Studio Display XDR. You can also use a third-party cable that is compatible with USB-C PD, and compliant with applicable international and regional regulations and safety standards.
Repairing. Studio Display XDR should only be serviced by following the instructions in Apple’s repair manual or by a trained technician. Disassembling Studio Display XDR may damage it or cause injury to you. If Studio Display XDR is damaged or malfunctions, contact Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider for service. Repairs performed without following instructions in Apple’s repair manual, by untrained individuals, or using non-genuine Apple parts may affect the safety and functionality of the device. Note: Self Service Repair is not available in all countries and regions.
Medical device interference. Studio Display XDR contains components, including magnets, that emit electromagnetic fields. These electromagnetic fields may interfere with medical devices, such as pacemakers and defibrillators. Consult your physician and medical device manufacturer for information specific to your medical device and whether you need to maintain a safe distance of separation between your Studio Display XDR and your medical device (more than 6 inches or 15 cm apart). If you suspect Studio Display XDR is interfering with your medical device, stop using Studio Display XDR and consult your physician and your medical device manufacturer.
Medical conditions. If you have a medical condition that you believe could be affected by using Studio Display XDR (for example, seizures, blackouts, eyestrain, or headaches), consult with your physician prior to using Studio Display XDR.
Repetitive motion. When you perform repetitive activities such as typing or playing games on Studio Display XDR, you may experience discomfort in your hands, arms, wrists, shoulders, neck, or other parts of your body. If you experience discomfort, stop using Studio Display XDR and consult a physician.
High-consequence activities. Studio Display XDR is not intended for use where the failure of the display could lead to death, personal injury, or severe environmental damage.
Explosive and other atmospheric conditions. Using Studio Display XDR in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere may be hazardous—particularly in areas where the air contains high levels of flammable chemicals, vapors, or particles such as grain, dust, or metal powders. Exposing Studio Display XDR to environments having high concentrations of industrial chemicals, including near evaporating liquified gasses such as helium, may damage or impair Studio Display XDR functionality. Obey all signs and instructions.
