Add footnotes in Pages for iCloud
You can add footnotes to word-processing documents. Footnotes appear at the bottom of the page and are numbered continuously throughout the document with Arabic numerals.
Add a footnote
Go to Pages for iCloud , then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary).
In your word-processing document, click in the body text where you want to insert a footnote number.
Note: You can’t add a footnote to text in a shape, table, or text box.
Click in the toolbar, then choose Footnote.
The footnote number is inserted in the text, and the insertion point moves to the footnote field at the bottom of the page.
If you don’t see Footnote, you’re in a page layout document where you can’t add footnotes.
Enter the footnote text.
You can also add objects (like images and shapes) to a footnote so they appear inline with the text.
Remove a footnote
Go to Pages for iCloud , then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary).
In your word-processing document, click in the body text immediately after the number for the footnote you want to delete, then press Delete.
The remaining footnotes adjust to reflect their new position in the sequence.
