Import and export profiles

If you want to transfer Terminal settings between computers, you can import and export settings files. Terminal settings files end with a .terminal extension.

Import a settings file

Choose Terminal > Preferences, then click Profiles.
Click the Action pop-up menu , then choose Import.
Select the file you want to import, then click Open.

Export a settings file

Choose Terminal > Preferences, then click Profiles.
Click the Action pop-up menu , then choose Export.
Enter a name for the settings file, then click Save.
