Magic Keyboard for MacBook Air
The Magic Keyboard with Touch ID has built-in features that make it easy to add emoji, change keyboard languages, lock your MacBook Air with Touch ID, and perform many tasks with the touch of a key.

Touch ID (power button)
Touch ID is a fingerprint identity sensor that’s also the power button. You can use it to turn on and unlock your Mac, pay for purchases with Apple Pay, and authenticate certain actions.
Turn on your Mac To turn on your MacBook Air, press Touch ID. You can also press any key on your Mac, or click the trackpad. | Set up Touch ID To set up Touch ID or add more fingerprints, open System Settings and click Touch ID in the sidebar. |
Unlock your Mac When you’re asked for your password, lightly place your finger on the Touch ID sensor. (When you start up your restart your MacBook Air, you need to log in first by typing your password; after that initial login you can use Touch ID to sign in.) | Make purchases with Apple Pay To make a purchase with Apple Pay, place your finger lightly on the Touch ID sensor to complete the transaction. |
Function keys
The function keys on the top row provide shortcuts for common system functions, like volume control and display brightness.
