Use Live Text to interact with content in a photo or video on Apple Vision Pro

When you view a photo in the Photos app, Live Text recognizes text and information within the image, letting you interact with it in multiple ways. You can select text to copy or share, or you can use quick actions to perform tasks like making a phone call, opening a website, or adding an event to your calendar.

Select text in a photo or video

Go to the Photos app on your Apple Vision Pro.
Open a photo or pause a video that contains text.
Pinch and hold the text you want to select.
The word you tap is highlighted.
Do either of the following:
- Select more text: Drag either end of the text selection box to include additional text.
- Select all text in the photo or frame: Tap Select All.

Copy, look up, and share text in a photo or video

Go to the Photos app on your Apple Vision Pro.
Open a photo or pause a video that contains text, then pinch and hold the text you want to interact with.
Tap any of the following:
- Copy: Copy text to paste into another app such as Notes or Messages.
- Look Up: Show personalized web suggestions.
- Search Web: Look up the selected text on the web.
- Share: Share text using AirDrop, Messages, Mail, or other available options.
Tap the photo or video to deselect the text and dismiss Live Text options.

Perform tasks within a photo or video with quick actions

Go to the Photos app on your Apple Vision Pro.
Open a photo or pause a video that contains text, then pinch and hold the text you want to interact with.
Depending on the content of the photo or video, you can take specific actions with the highlighted text. For example:
- Call or message a phone number
- Get directions to an address
- Add an event to your calendar on a specific date

Note: You may need to turn off any spatial effects on a photo in order to use Live Text. Live Text isn’t available in all regions or languages.
