
Configure a Data Management setting in Apple Business Essentials
Data Management allows you to specify how managed data is allowed to move on devices, what sources the Files app can access, and if users are able to use Erase all Contents and Settings.
- In Apple Business Essentials, sign in with a user who has the role of Administrator. 
- Select Settings  in the sidebar, then select All Settings. in the sidebar, then select All Settings.
- Select the Add button  next to Data Management next to Data Management . .
- Under Platform, select the operating systems you would like to configure this setting for. 
- Set any of the following: - Note: The term managed apps applies to all apps in Apple Business Essentials that were obtained from the App Store. - Setting - Minimum supported operating systems - Description - Allow unmanaged apps to access managed data - iOS 7 - iPadOS 13.1 - Choose whether unmanaged apps can receive or open data from managed apps - Allow managed apps to open other files - iOS 7 - iPadOS 13.1 - Choose whether managed apps can receive or open data from unmanaged apps - Control pasteboard data - iOS 15 - iPadOS 15 - Choose whether data moving via copy and paste adheres to the managed data controls above - Treat AirDrop as unmanaged - iOS 9 - iPadOS 13.1 - Choose whether AirDrop is considered an unmanaged destination - Allow managed apps to use iCloud sync - iOS 8 - iPadOS 13.1 - Choose whether managed apps can save to and access data in iCloud - Allow Erase All Content and Settings - iOS 8 - iPadOS 13.1 - macOS 12.0.1 - Choose whether to allow the user to use Erase All Content and Settings 
- Select Save.
