Manage playgrounds and app projects on Mac
In the My Playgrounds window, you can view the apps and playgrounds you’ve downloaded or created. You can add, duplicate, rename, share, or delete apps or playgrounds. You can also reset a playground.
Note: App projects and playgrounds with under their title haven’t been opened yet.
View playgrounds or app projects you’ve downloaded or created
In the Swift Playgrounds app on your Mac, go to the My Playgrounds window by doing any of the following:
If you’re working in a playground, choose Window > My Playgrounds.
If you’re on the More Playgrounds screen, click .
Open a playground or app project
In the Swift Playgrounds app on your Mac, go to the My Playgrounds window (choose Window > My Playgrounds or click at the top left of the More Playgrounds screen).
Note: If the playground or app project you want to open isn’t in the My Playgrounds window (if, for example, you received it from someone else), choose File > Import Playground, then locate the playground.
Double-click the playground or app project.
If you open a playground from someplace other than the My Playgrounds window (such as iCloud Drive), any changes you make to it are saved with the playground in the location you opened it from.
Add or delete a playground or app project
In the Swift Playgrounds app on your Mac, go to the My Playgrounds window (choose Window > My Playgrounds or click at the top left of the More Playgrounds screen), then do any of the following:
Add a playground or app project: Click a playground or app project in the More Playgrounds section at the bottom.
You can also click See All near the bottom right, and then click Get next to a playground or app project on the More Playgrounds screen.
Delete a playground or app project: Control-click the playground or app project, then choose Move to Trash.
Duplicate or rename a playground or app project
In the Swift Playgrounds app on your Mac, go to the My Playgrounds window (choose Window > My Playgrounds or click at the top left of the More Playgrounds screen), then do any of the following:
Duplicate a playground or app project: Control-click the playground or app project, then choose Duplicate.
Rename a playground or app project: Control-click the playground or app project, choose Rename, then enter a new name.
Search for or view more playgrounds or app projects
In the Swift Playgrounds app on your Mac, go to the My Playgrounds window (choose Window > My Playgrounds or click at the top left of the More Playgrounds screen), then do any of the following:
Search for a playground or app project: Enter part or all of the name of the playground or app project in the filter field at the top right.
Only playgrounds and app projects that match your search text appear.
View more playgrounds and app projects: Click See All near the bottom right.
Note: After you update to a new version of Swift Playgrounds, it may try to update your existing playgrounds to work with the new version. If you have a playground that worked in an older version of Swift Playgrounds but doesn’t work in the new version, try closing the playground and Swift Playgrounds and then reopening them. If that doesn’t work, click See All near the bottom right to go to the More Playgrounds window, then click Get to download a new copy of the playground.
