Import photos from Mail, Safari, and other apps on Mac

You can import photos and media from emails, texts sent using Messages, and webpages in Safari.

Open Photos for me

Drag a photo from another app and hold it over the Photos icon in the Dock.
Go to the Photos app on your Mac.
To view the photo or video you imported, click Recently Saved in the sidebar.
If you don’t see Recently Saved in the sidebar, hold the pointer over Utilities in the sidebar, then click .

Note: If you participate in an iCloud Shared Photo Library, click the Library pop-up menu in the toolbar and choose the library to import into.
