Enter words not displayed in the Candidate window
Words that aren’t in a Japanese dictionary (such as compounds with special readings, place names, and proper names) aren’t displayed in the Candidate window. You can enter these words by using individual readings for each kanji.
Example: Modify a word to create a proper name that’s not in the dictionary
Type “taiyou” (たいよう), press the Space bar, then press Return.
太陽 is in your document.
Press the Left Arrow key, then press the Delete key to delete 太 (tai).
Press the Right Arrow key to move the cursor to the right of 陽 (you).
Type “minami” ( みなみ ), press the Space bar, then press Return.
陽南 is in your document.
Type “ooi” (おおい), press the Space bar, then press Return.
陽南多い is in your document.
Press Delete to delete い (i).
陽南多 (ひなた) (Hinata) remains in the document.
To avoid repeating these steps the next time you type the word, add the word to your user dictionary.
