Fill storyboard placeholders in iMovie on iPhone
When you create a storyboard project in iMovie, the storyboard you choose includes a shot list with placeholders of clip groups to guide you in choosing which video clips or photos to add. You can add video clips and photos from your library or record new video or photos directly into placeholders. After you add a video clip or photo to a placeholder, you can use the iMovie editing tools to edit the clip, just as you can in a Magic Movie or movie project.

In the iMovie app on your iPhone, open a storyboard project.
Tap a placeholder in the shot list.
Tap the Add button in the top-left corner of the placeholder thumbnail, then tap Choose From Library.
Tap Photos to choose a video clip or photo from your Camera Roll, or tap Albums to choose a video clip or photo from an album in your Photos library.
Tap the video clip or photo you want to add to the placeholder.
