Add media to storyboard projects in iMovie on iPhone
When you create a storyboard project in iMovie, you’re presented with a shot list with placeholders for adding video clips and photos (see Fill storyboard placeholders in iMovie on iPhone).
You can also add video clips and photos to the storyboard project outside of placeholders.

Tap the Add button , then tap Take Video or Photo.
Tap Video.
Tap the Record button to begin recording video; tap it again to stop recording.
Tip: You can tap the resolution and frame rate in the upper right to change how the video is recorded. To turn on the automatic flash, tap the Flash button in the upper left.
Tap Use Video to add the video to your storyboard project shot list, or tap Retake to discard the previous take and record new video.
Recorded videos are stored in your Photos library.
