If you can't see your shared album

Learn what to do if you can't see your shared album, your shared album isn't syncing, or you can't interact with your shared album.

If you can't see your shared album or your shared album isn't syncing

  1. Make sure that your device meets the minimum system requirements for Shared Albums. If possible, upgrade to version 27 or later of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, or visionOS on your devices.

  2. Check the internet connection on all your devices by going to apple.com or iCloud.com.

  3. Go to Settings, tap Apps, then tap Photos. Scroll down and make sure Shared Albums is turned on.

iPhone Photos settings screen showing Shared Albums, Shared Library, and Share iCloud Image options.
  4. Check whether the album or content is accessible on a different device, on icloud.com/photos, or by another subscriber of the shared album.

  5. Make sure that the owner of the shared album hasn't exceeded their iCloud storage limit. If they have, they can manage their iCloud storage or upgrade their iCloud+ plan.

  6. In version 26 or earlier of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, or visionOS only, back up the photos in your shared album then turn Shared Albums off and back on again: Go to Settings, tap Apps, then tap Photos. Then turn off Shared Albums. Wait 10 minutes. Turn Shared Albums back on again.

If you can't interact with your shared album

When you create a new shared album in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macO S27, and visionOS 27 or later, or a shared album owner upgrades their album to version 27 or later, any shared album participants on earlier OS versions see the shared album as read-only. To regain uploading, liking, and commenting abilities, upgrade to version 27 or later on all of your devices or view the album on iCloud.com.
