Monitor base stations for problems in AirPort Utility on Mac

You can have AirPort Utility automatically monitor all of the base stations on your network. If a problem is detected, AirPort Utility opens and provides instructions to help resolve the problem.

  1. Open the AirPort Utility app on your Mac, located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.

    Open AirPort Utility for me

  2. Choose AirPort Utility > Settings.

  3. To investigate problems that may cause the base station’s status light to flash amber, select “Monitor AirPort base stations for problems.”

After selecting the checkbox, you can do either of the following:

    • To limit the number of base stations monitored to those set up from the computer you’re using, select “Only monitor AirPort base stations that I have configured.”

    • To monitor your wireless devices remotely, select “Monitor AirPort base stations over the internet using Bonjour.”
