Add or remove buddies
You can add or remove buddies from your buddy list. You can use buddy lists with a Jabber account, but not with iMessage.
Add buddies
If you’re already having a conversation with someone, select the conversation, then choose Buddies > Add Buddy. Otherwise, follow the steps below:
In the buddy list window, click the Add button
, then choose Add Buddy.Do one of the following:
If the person you want to add is listed in Contacts, click the disclosure triangle next to the “Last name” field, select his or her name from the list, then click Add.
If Add is disabled, the person doesn’t have a compatible messaging account in his or her contact card.
Enter the person’s buddy name in the “Account name” field, and the buddy’s first and last name in the “First name” and “Last name” fields.
Choose a group for this buddy from the “Add to group” pop-up menu. If you don’t want to add the buddy to a specific group, choose Buddies.
Click Add.
Remove buddies
Select the buddy in a buddy list, choose Buddies > Remove Buddy, then click Remove.
