Change General preferences in iTunes on PC
In the iTunes app on your PC, use the General pane of iTunes preferences to specify a library name, choose how to show lists, specify import settings, and more.
To change these preferences, choose Edit > Preferences, then click General.

Library Name | You can rename your iTunes library. This is useful if you use more than one library. If you turn on iTunes library sharing, others see this name. | ||||||||||

Add songs to Library when adding to playlists | When this checkbox is selected, songs from Apple Music that you add to a playlist are also added to your iCloud Music Library. Deselect to add Apple Music songs to playlists without adding them to your library. Note: This option appears if you are signed in as a subscriber to Apple Music or iTunes Match. | ||||||||||
List view checkboxes | Display or hide checkboxes when viewing items in your library in a list. | ||||||||||
Grid view download badges | Display or hide download buttons when viewing items in your library in a grid. | ||||||||||
Star ratings | Display or hide star ratings for songs. | ||||||||||
List Size | Change the text size when viewing items in your library in a list. | ||||||||||
Playlist Icon Size | Change the size of the playlist icons that appear in the sidebar. | ||||||||||
When you insert a CD | Choose what happens when you insert a CD in your computer’s optical drive. Only appears when your computer has a CD or DVD drive, or is connected to an external drive. | ||||||||||
Import Settings | Choose the file format and other settings for songs you import from CDs. See Choose import settings. | ||||||||||
Automatically retrieve CD track names from Internet | Automatically display song and artist names when you insert an audio CD. (To retrieve track names, you must be connected to the internet.) Only appears when your computer has a CD or DVD drive, or is connected to an external drive. | ||||||||||
