Share control of Home accessories on Mac
You can invite others to control the accessories in your home. The people you invite need to have iCloud set up.
Invite others to control accessories
In the Home app on your Mac, choose Edit > Edit Home.
On the Home settings screen, click Invite People, then enter the Apple ID email address of a user you’d like to share control of your Home accessories with.
Click Send Invite.
The invitation appears in the People area of the Home settings screen and is sent to the user. After the invitation is accepted, the user can control your Home accessories.
Important: Sharing control of your home will require a home hub on the new Home architecture, which is more reliable and efficient, and which will be available later this year as a separate upgrade in the Home app.
Share video from your cameras
You can allow other people to view video from your cameras.
In the Home app on your Mac, choose Edit > Edit Home.
Below the People heading, click a person.
If you haven’t added any people yet, click Invite People.
Click Cameras, then choose an option.
Click the Previous button , click the Previous button again, then click Done.
Allow others to access your AirPlay 2-enabled speakers and TVs
In the Home app on your Mac, choose Edit > Edit Home.
On the Home settings screen, click Allow Speaker & TV Access, then choose an option.
You can allow everyone, anyone on the same network, or only people you invite to share the home. You can also require a password that allows speaker access. To learn more about HomePod speaker and Apple TV access, see the HomePod User Guide and Apple TV User Guide.
